OFSDP-II organised consultative workshop on environmental and social management system framework (ESMSF) and schedule tribe and forest dependant planning framework (STFDPF) of OFSDP-II

The Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project, Phase-II (OFSDP-II) organized a one day Consultative Workshop on Environmental and Social Management System Framework (ESMSF) and Schedule Tribe and Forest Dependant Planning Framework (STFDPF) of OFSDP, Phase-II on 28th July 2019 at Hotel Sandy’s Tower, Bhubaneswar. The workshop was organised to deliberate on the Environmental and Social Management System Framework (ESMSF) prescribed by JICA and STFDPF. The Workshop was inaugurated by Sri L.K.Tewari, IFS, PCCF-cum-Project Director of Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS). In his inaugural remarks, Project Director stated that the importance of such frameworks for Natural Resource Management through participatory mode in India in past few years has been necessitated for incorporation in the projects. The purpose of formulating the Environmental and Social Management System Framework (ESMSF) and Schedule Tribe and Forest Dependant Planning Framework (STFDPF) is to ensure that the rules and procedures of JICA and environmental requirements of India are adhered while taking up various intereventions under OFSDP, Phase-II.

The workshop was also graced by Dr. Meeta Biswal, IFS, Smt. Pusa Zhule Mekro, IFS, both Additional Project Directors of OFSDS and attended by RCCFs of Baripada, Berhampur, Rourkela, Bhawanipatna and Sambalpur circles. DFO-cum-Divisional Management Unit Chiefs of Athamallick, Baripada, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Karanjia, Ghumsur North, Ghummsur South, Rairangpur, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Sundergarh along with senior officials of Project Management Units, filed level Subject Matter Specialists of OFSDP-II and Project Management Consultants were the participants of this workshop.
