Preparatory workshop on CMRV and REDD+ Forest Management approaches to mitigate climate change under OFSDP-II

The Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project Phase-II (OFSDP-II) organized a Preparatory Workshop on adoption of Community Based Monitoring Reporting and Verification (CMRV) and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation of Forest Lands (REDD+) readiness in its project areas on 18th December 2018 at Bhubaneswar. The workshop was organised to deliberate on the preparedness of the OFSDP-II Project and its project divisions to implement the new methodology of Sustaninable Forest Management approach and prepare a framework of REDD+ actions in the state. The workshop was graced by Dr. Hari Shankar Upadhyay, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests-cum-Director, Nandankanan Bilogical Park as Chief Guest, Shri L.K.Tewari, Project Director, OFSDP-II, Dr. Sudarshan Panda, RCCF, Angul, Dr. Meeta Biswal, IFS, Additional Project Director, OFSDP-II, Dr. P.R. Karat, IFS, Joint Project Director of OFSDP-II along with DFOs-cum-Divisional Management Unit Chiefs of Athamallick, Baripada, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Karanjia, Ghumsur North, Ghummsur South, Rairangpur, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Sundergarh attended this workshop. Dr. A.K. Pathak, Additional PCCF, Plan Programme and Afforestation and Shri Suresh Pant, RCCF, Berhampur also participated in the workshop.
