SUDDEN DEMISE OF SHRI L.K.TEWARI, PCCF (PROJECTS)-CUM-PROJECT DIRECTOR

Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Projects)-cum-Project Director of Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS) Shri Lalit Kumar Tewari, IFS passed away on 1st November 2019 at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He was 59 years of age.
A 1986-batch IFS officer, Shri Lalit Kumar Tewari was to retire from service this November 2019.
He suffered a brain stroke on 19th October 2019 and was admitted in critical condition to AMRI Hospital, Bhubaneswar. He was in critical condition since then.

Shri Lalit Kumar Tewari held the charge of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Projects) of which runs Ama Jangala Yojana, flagship programme of Government of Odisha under Forest and Environment Deptt. He was also designated as the Project Director of JICA assisted Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project, Phase-II.

Prior to this Shri Lalit Kumar Tewari has served as Regional Chief Conservator of Forests (RCCF) Sambalpur, Additional Project Director of OFSDP, Member Secretary of Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB), CCF(IME) at PCCF – Odisha. During his Central Deputation he had served as Director, Border Management in Ministry of Home Affairs and Additional Commissioner (Forests) in Ministry of Agriculture. Prior to his second phase Central Deputation he had served as Member Secretary, OSPCB and Planning Officer at PCCF- Odisha. During his Cental Deputation he served as Lecturer in SFS College, Dehradun. HAfter completion of his IFS Probationer, he started his career as ACF of Boiparigura Range in Jeypore Division in 1989 and subsequently served as ACF, Koraput. He joined as DFO, Athamallick Kenduleaf Division and DFO of Angul Division before he joined as Deputy Conservator of Forets (M&E) at PCCF, Odisha.

Dr(Mrs) Meeta Biswal, present Project Director of OFSDS paid floaral tributes at his residence and offered condolences to the family. Mrs P.Z. Mekro, IFS, Additional Project Director (A&F) and all other staffs of PMU, OFSDS also offered their tributes to the mortal body of Shri L.K.Tewari. His last rites were performed on Sunday.
